Family
Damon comes from a wealthy family from New Long Island, New York. He is an only child and has been cut off from his family's fortune. His mother, maiden name Paddington, is deceased. She went through a "Renaissance phase" when Damon was five which inspired the decor of his childhood bedroom and gave him vampire nightmares. She also drank Damon's Sea Monkeys, confusing their sea castles with her Mint Julep.
Damon's father, Anthony Kendrik, is a historian that teaches at several colleges on Earth. It has also been suggested that his father was abusive and an alcoholic. Damon and his father share similar personality traits — kind of eccentric, always joking around and they both flirt with women.
After his mother's death, Damon and his father spent very little time together and rarely communicated with each other, which is what caused their strained relationship. Damon also spent the majority of his childhood in a number of boarding schools and summer camps, and was at one point left in a hotel room for two days when his father left for a supposed business meeting.
Education and Work History
Damon attended Rhode Island Military Academy as a teenager and graduated with a BA in Both Physical Education and Anthropology. During his time at the academy he participated in several sporting activities but his focus was on protective services.
He has worked in three different police departments on Earth – New Denver PD, New Long Island PD, and Cape Neuvo PD - staying in each location for an average of two years. At the end of his stint with Cape Neuvo homicide, he decided that he would like to join Star Fleet. He felt he needed a “change in scenery” and with the connections of his father, he was put on the 'fast track' in the academy.
During his tenure as a Starfleet Academy Student, Damon took courses that continued enhancing his area of expertise as a supervisory special agent. At the end of his schooling, Damon was assigned as "Agent Afloat" to the USS Ronald Reagan, and later to the USS Seahawk, USS Aurora, and the USS Golden. He then took a position with Starfleet Command where he studied under the likes of Admiral Janeway and Admiral Picard

Damon is a streetwise, promiscuous former homicide detective. His behavior toward women is occasionally noted by others to be chauvinistic, and throughout most of his adult life, Damon is shown flirting with nearly every woman he encounters. He does not respect personal boundaries, going so far as to rifle through his colleagues' possessions, both at work and in their homes. The targets of this behavior are either victims of Damon's quests for new sources of amusement, or those for whom he believes he has reason to be concerned.
Although Damon is in his forties, he possesses a juvenile sense of humor that manifests itself in name-calling, tangent flying, primping, teasing and pranks directed at his colleagues. Damon delights in quoting lines from ancient earth movies in everyday life, often mimicking the original actor. Damon also finds parallels between the cinema and his everyday life. This occasionally proves to be more useful than aggravating, as when his application of a solution from a movie ends in the successful resolution of a case. Damon is a fan of 20th century television and movies. Damon, at times, introduces himself to others as characters from many of the movies or television series he enjoys.
