Doctor Dayton Le'Raye is a Betazoid that though she was born into nobility comes as a warm and down to earth person. She strives to find the balance between a life in the fleet and a private life. Her passions seem to be those that she can do on her own; reading, singing, Vulcan Meditation, guitar, piano and holoquests. This could be due to her nature - being born with her telepathic abilities. Her abilities being that strong, sometimes they do have a tendency to consume all her attention. However, she seems to have gotten better control over them as she has been with Starfleet. I do find it interesting that she is able [REDACTED] also the ability to calm anyone and [REDACTED]. Which of course leads to her disliking overbearing people.

Honor. Duty. Truth. Family. Being born into the First House of Betazed all these traits are paramount. And being the first and only daughter made the last the most important in the eyes of Asel and Cairbre. After bearing their daughter on Earth the Le'Raye's moved back to Betazed to give Dayton the childhood that they dreamed of for her. With an agile mind Dayton rose to medical school while still in her teens and moved to Starfleet right after.
In the course of work with the Betazoid Government, Asel and Cairbre traveled to Earth shortly after Dayton was on break from University of Betazed Medical in 2388. During the course of their visit they stayed with some diplomatic friends that had a teen the same age as Dayton; a prominent Icelandic Harvard Linguistics Professor Hergrim Ragnarsson, and Rachel “Cortez” Ragnarsson, a Starfleet engineer whose work focused on Starship design. It was the day Dayton met her Imzadi, Thorolf Heregrimsson. The two grew together almost instantly and at the end of the trip they consummated their love, leaving Dayton unknowingly pregnant.
When the pregnancy was found out, Dayton was urged to fulfill her commitment to the First House and marry her betrothed Crispin to legitimize the child that was to be born. She only conscented when Thorolf didn’t answer her attempts at communication. Two weeks later she was married to a man she had no interest in. Crispin and Dayton were happy enough at first but it soon became apparent that there were too many differences between the two, that when Dayton went to the Academy she and Crispin parted on good terms sharing “their” young daughter, Ashli, between Dayton's home in the fleet and Crispin's home on Betazed.
As Dayton finished up her command training a position opened in the Gamma Quadrant as the Medical Attache for the Diplomatic Corp under her Mother as the Ambassador to the Riwazen government. Life was peaceful and the Riwazen people were telepathic like the Betazeds which gave Ashli a great place to grow and Dayton a much needed vacation from the minds of non-telepathic races. This was short lived.
In 2392, the telepathic riots spread from a section of the race that was not telepathic. They captured and tortured the telepathic members of the species trying to gain telepathic abilities for themselves. This included the Betazed Diplomatic Contingent. It took a Starfleet Marine Strikeforce to help break into the embassy and free the Diplomatic Retinue and get those in Starfleet off planet. In the Strikeforce, a Major Thorolf Heregrimsson. Imzadis were reunited.

2397 was a big year for Dayton, she married Imzadi and graduated the academy first in her class. Though she had the pick of any assignment she chose the USS Franklin, which did deep space exploration and had a Marine Contingent on board. Over the next years her assignments would toggle from deep space to Starfleet Command without rhyme or reason. Her current assignment is the USS New Jersey, another deep space ship.
