Biography:
A New Englander, Jericho East came to Galaxy directly from basic training and found himself quickly in the action. Originally a bumbling electronics tech and mechanic on the ship's busy tactical shuttlebay, Jericho steadily developed into a competent engineer and NCO. While hardly virtuous, Jericho is faithful to his friends. Rescued by Naota during an emergency in which the crew had to abandon the Galaxy, Jericho began to befriend the petulent Miran. As a result, Jericho improved in the areas of shuttle maintenance and basic flight operations, which resulted in his quickly advancing through the petty officer grades. When Naota was ordered to take temporary command of the USS Nautilus, Naota selected Jericho to be his acting Chief Engineer for the duration of the assignment.
Following the return to the Galaxy, Jericho was promoted to the grade of Petty Officer First Class and moved to the Ship's Engineering Department in order to expand on his technical knowledge and skills. Maintaining his friendship with Naota, after returning from Shore Leave on Pacifica and realizing how lonely the Miran's existence on the ship was, Jericho petitioned for Captain Darren M'Kantu to permit him to adopt the Miran. Captain M'Kantu accepted the unusual request and formalized the relationship between the two.
As Naota's adoptive father, it's widely regarded that Jericho has one of the hardest jobs aboard the ship; but it's clear that the two are dedicated to one another - even if they haven't figured each other out as of yet.
